Korean onion consumption is set to remain steady at 1.37 million metric tons by 2026, according to a report from 2021. From 2017 to 2021, demand decreased by 1.9% year on year. In 2021, Brazil topped the list of countries at 1.37 million metric tons, followed by India, the United States and Egypt. Meanwhile, Korean onion production is expected to drop slightly to 1.35 million metric tons by 2026. From 2017 to 2021, supply decreased by 3.1% year on year. Uzbekistan overtook Korea as the top producer in 2021 with 1.39 million metric tons, followed by India, the United States and Egypt.
