Senegal's onion production is set to reach nearly 480,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 427,000 metric tons in 2021, at an average rate of 1.9% year-on-year. In 2021, Germany topped the list with 427,000 metric tons, followed by India, the United States and Egypt in second, third and fourth place respectively. Consumption of Senegalese onions is expected to reach 592,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 539,000 metric tons in 2021, at an average rate of 1.5% year-on-year. Since 2017, demand has risen 3.8% year-on-year. In 2021, Malaysia topped the list with 539,000 metric tons, followed by India, the United States and Egypt in second, third and fourth place respectively.
