Since 2017, demand has been steadily increasing by an average of 1.4% every year. In 2021, Haiti ranked 103rd in terms of onion consumption, with Latvia consuming 24 thousand metric tons. India, the United States and Egypt ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. In 2018, Haitian onion production was 9 thousand metric tons, the same as 2017.
