India, the United States and Egypt were the top three countries for onion consumption in 2021. Zambia's onion production is forecast to drop to around 38,000 metric tons by 2026. This is a 0.2% decrease year-on-year, compared to the 0.9% drop seen since 2017. The country ranked 81st in 2021, with Bosnia and Herzegovina coming in first with 38,000 metric tons. India, the United States and Egypt were the top three countries for onion production in 2021.
