Cabo Verdeans' onion consumption is set to drop 4.4% annually over the next five years, remaining at around 4,000 metric tons. Consumption has stayed stable since 2017, however, the country was overtaken by Swaziland in 2021, who consumed 5,000 metric tons. Cabo Verdean production of onions is expected to decrease 4.5% annually over the next five years, falling to just over 2,200 metric tons. There has been no change in production since 2017, and the country was overtaken by Guyana in 2021, who produced 3,000 metric tons.
