Consumption of onions in the Netherlands is set to remain steady over the next five years, with 18 thousand metric tons expected in 2026. Currently, Sierra Leone leads the way in onion consumption with 18 thousand metric tons, followed by India, the United States, and Egypt. Dutch onion production, however, is predicted to drop slightly by 2026, with 1,370 thousand metric tons expected. South Korea currently leads the way in onion production with 1,390 thousand metric tons, followed by India, the United States, and Egypt. Despite the slight decline, production has increased 3.2% since 2017.
