Bulgaria's onion production is set to rise to 52,000 metric tons by 2026, up 3.4% on an annual basis, from 42,000 metric tons in 2021. Since 2017, the country's output has been stable. It ranked 77th in 2021, with Armenia ahead at 42,000 metric tons. India, the US, and Egypt took the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively. Consumption of onions in Bulgaria is expected to reach 66,000 metric tons by 2026, a 2.3% average annual increase from 57,000 metric tons in 2021. Since 2017, the demand for onions has been consistent. The country was 80th in 2021, with Hungary leading the way at 57,000 metric tons. India, the US, and Egypt were ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively.
