Venezuela's onion production is set to dip slightly over the next five years, according to recent forecasts. The country is projected to produce 168,600 metric tons of onions by 2026, down 0.7% from the 176,000 metric tons produced in 2021. Since 2017, production has fallen by 1.7% year on year. Venezuela ranked 47th in production in 2021, overtaken by Tunisia, who produced 176,000 metric tons. India, the United States, and Egypt were the top three producers, respectively. Meanwhile, consumption of onions in Venezuela is expected to reach 146,000 metric tons by 2026, a decline of 0.6% from the 151,000 metric tons consumed in 2021. Since 2017, demand has decreased by 1.5% year on year. Venezuela ranked 56th in consumption in 2021, with Malawi coming in ahead of them at 151,000 metric tons. India, the United States, and Egypt were the top three consumers, respectively.
