Azerbaijan is set to consume 187,000 metric tons of onions by 2026, a 0.4% increase over 2021, according to the latest figures. From 2017 to 2021, Azerbaijani onion consumption rose by 0.9%. Portugal was the top consumer in 2021 with 183,000 metric tons, followed by India, the United States, and Egypt. Azerbaijan is also set to produce 264,000 metric tons of onions by 2026, a 1.6% increase from 2021. From 2017 to 2021, Azerbaijani onion production increased by 0.7%. Canada was the top producer in 2021 with 240,000 metric tons, followed by India, the United States, and Egypt.
