Israeli onion consumption is expected to reach 110,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 107,000 metric tons in 2021. On average, demand has remained stable since 2017 and Israel was the 62nd largest consumer in 2021, behind Greece’s 107,000 metric tons. India, the US and Egypt held the second, third and fourth spots respectively. Producers in Israel are estimated to supply 79,000 metric tons by 2026, down from 84,000 metric tons in 2021. This is a decline of 1% year-on-year since 2017. Israel is the 65th largest producer in 2021, behind North Korea’s 84,000 metric tons. India, the US and Egypt held the top three spots.
