Belarus is projected to consume more onions in 2026 than it produces. Consumption is set to reach 213 thousand metric tons, while production is forecast to reach 228.78 thousand metric tons. Since 2017, onion consumption in Belarus has grown by 2% year-on-year, while production has increased by 1.2%. In 2021, Belarus was ranked 51st in onion consumption, while it came 43rd in production. India, the US and Egypt ranked first, second and third, respectively, in both rankings. Mozambique overtook Belarus in onion consumption, while Azerbaijan surpassed it in production.
