Malawian chickpea production plummeted 25% in 2019 compared to the year prior. Since 1966, the country's supply has dropped a staggering 53.3%. Last year, Malawi was the 39th largest producer of chickpeas, behind Palestine (1,400 metric tons), Myanmar, Russia and Ethiopia.
