Production of Chinese chickpeas is projected to reach 19,060 metric tons by 2026. This represents an increase of 2% annually since 2021, when production reached 16,780 metric tons. This growth has been consistent since 1997, with a year-on-year increase of 3.5%. China ranked 22nd in the world for chickpea production in 2021. Israel led the way with 16,780 metric tons, with Myanmar, Russia and Ethiopia ranking second, third, and fourth respectively.
