Mexico is set to produce 272,200 metric tons of chickpeas by 2026, with an annual growth rate of 1.6%. This is significantly higher than their production in 1966, which has grown 15.2% year-over-year. In 2021, Mexico was the ninth-largest producer of chickpeas, with 246,420 metric tons. Canada overtook them in production, coming in at number one. Myanmar, Russia, and Ethiopia came in second, third and fourth, respectively.
