Zimbabwe is projected to become the 43rd largest chickpea producer in the world by 2026. This is a 1.4% increase year-on-year from 2021. Since 1995, Zimbabwean production of chickpeas has grown by 2.3% annually. In 2021, the country produced 542 metric tons of chickpeas, putting it in 43rd place – one place behind Bolivia. Myanmar, Russia and Ethiopia were the top three producers in 2021.
