Algeria’s chickpea production is expected to reach almost 50,000 metric tons by 2026. That’s a 2.4% average annual growth rate since 1966. In 2021, Algeria was the 16th largest producer of chickpeas, but Tanzania overtook them with 42,170 metric tons. Myanmar, Russia, and Ethiopia were the second, third, and fourth largest producers, respectively.
