Nigerien chickpea production is set to reach just over 276,000 metric tons by 2026. This is a 1% year-on-year increase from 260,000 metric tons in 2021. Since 1997, Nigerien supply has grown steadily, increasing by 1.5% year-on-year. In 2021, it ranked 46th in the world, with Zimbabwe overtaking it at 260,000 metric tons. Myanmar, Russia and Ethiopia were the next three countries in the ranking.
