Burmese chickpea production is set to increase slightly over the next five years, with an average annual growth rate of 0.9%. In 2021, Myanmar produced 528,460 metric tons of chickpeas, making it the second largest producer behind India's 559,120 metric tons. Russia and Ethiopia respectively ranked third and fourth, while Myanmar's production has decreased by 1.1% year on year since 1966.
