Moldavian soup imports are set to drop 6% year-on-year by 2026, from 111,630 kilograms in 2021 to 78,190 kilograms. Since 1999, Moldavian demand has decreased by an average of 2.8% annually. In 2021, Moldova was the 113th largest importer of soup, behind Armenia with 111,630 kilograms. The Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom respectively came in at 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. Moldavian soup exports increased 115.6% in 2018, from 1,070 kilograms in 2017 to 2,310 kilograms. That same year, Moldova ranked 99th in terms of exports, behind Namibia with 2,310 kilograms. Canada, Senegal and Germany were the top three exporters, followed by Moldova.
