Peruvian chestnut production is expected to hit 490.8 metric tons by 2026, a slight drop from the 571 metric tons recorded in 2021. Since 1985, production has been declining year-on-year at a rate of 2.5%. Macedonia overtook Peru in 2021, becoming the fifteenth-largest producer of chestnuts with 571 metric tons. Spain, Bolivia, and South Korea followed in the rankings, coming in at numbers two, three, and four respectively.
