Spain is set to be the second-biggest producer of chestnuts in the world in 2026. According to figures released, production is expected to reach 278,160 metric tons – an annual growth rate of 5%. Since 1966, Spanish chestnut production has risen by 66%, with the country currently producing 206,160 metric tons. This puts it in second place behind China, with Bolivia and South Korea respectively in third and fourth place.
