Romania is set to become one of the world's leading chestnut producers by 2026. Production is projected to reach 44 metric tons, a 0.9% increase year on year. Since 1998, Romania has seen a 4.4% increase in chestnut supply every year. It was the 24th leading producer in 2021, slightly behind Zimbabwe's output of 41 metric tons. Spain, Bolivia, and South Korea took the top three spots in the ranking.
