Kazakhstan's fish production is expected to grow modestly over the next five years. However, looking at the longer-term trend, Kazakhstan's fish supply has seen a slight decline. Since 1997, the country's fish production has decreased by an average of 0.4% per year. On the consumption side, Kazakhstan's fish demand is anticipated to see a slight decline. By 2028, fish consumption is forecasted to fall to roughly 25,610 metric tons from about 25,830 metric tons in 2023, marking a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of -0.1%. Since 2019, the country's fish consumption has been decreasing at an average rate of 0.1% per year. In 2023, Kazakhstan ranked 81st globally in fish consumption. New Zealand led just ahead with 25,830 metric tons, while Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand occupied the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
