Since 2019, the demand for fish in Pakistan has been decreasing at a rate of 1.5% per year. In 2023, Pakistan ranked 52nd in global fish consumption, with Yemen surpassing it with a similar consumption figure of approximately 59,000 metric tons. Leading the rankings were Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
