Meanwhile, fish consumption in Albania is expected to hit 10,430 metric tons by 2028, rising from 10,030 metric tons in 2023. This growth translates to a modest annual increase of 0.7%. From 2019 onwards, Albanian demand for fish has grown by 1% each year. In 2023, Albania ranked 112th in global fish consumption, with Honduras surpassing it at the same level of 10,030 metric tons. The top spots in fish consumption were held by Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions respectively.
