On the consumption side, Serbian fish intake is expected to climb to about 23,500 metric tons by 2028, up from 23,300 metric tons in 2023. This marks an average yearly growth of 0.2%. Despite this increase, Serbian fish demand has declined by 0.2% annually since 2019. In 2023, Serbia ranked 87th in fish consumption globally, with Switzerland slightly ahead at 23,300 metric tons. Leading the rankings were Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots respectively.
