Botswana's salmon exports are expected to reach 18,000 kilograms by 2026, up from 17,100 kilograms in 2021 – a 0.4% growth year-on-year, according to a new report. From 2017, the country's salmon supply has risen by 12.5%. Switzerland overtook Botswana to rank first in 2021 with 17,100 kilograms. Sweden, Chile and the UK followed in second, third and fourth places, respectively. Meanwhile, Botswana's salmon imports are set to reach 2,090 kilograms by 2026, up from 1,880 kilograms in 2021 – a 1.5% year-on-year growth. Since 2005, however, the country's demand has fallen by 12.1%. Ivory Coast took the number one spot in 2021 with 1,880 kilograms, followed by Poland, the US and France in second, third and fourth places, respectively.
