Demand for Nigerien salmon imports is set to increase over the next five years. According to figures released by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, imports are expected to reach 1,520 kilograms by 2026 - a growth of 2.2% year-on-year on average since 2000. In 2021, Nigerien demand was up 0.4% year-on-year, making it the 94th largest importer of salmon in the world. Malawi came ahead at 1,310 kilograms, whilst Poland, the United States and France respectively placed second, third and fourth in the global ranking.
