Switzerland is set to see an increase in its salmon import from 4.49 million kilograms in 2021 to 4.92 million kilograms by 2026. This is an annual growth rate of 1.3%. Since 1993, Swiss demand for salmon has risen by 7% each year. In 2021, it ranked 30th in terms of salmon imports. Belarus had the largest imports with 4.49 million kg, while Poland, the United States and France came in second, third and fourth respectively. Switzerland's salmon exports rose dramatically in 2018, totaling 942 kilograms, up from just 9 kilograms in 2017. This represents a 10,370% increase in a year. However, since 1993, Swiss supply of salmon has dropped by 46.3% annually. In 2018, Switzerland was ranked 50th in terms of salmon exports. Lebanon was the leader in these exports, with 942 kilograms. Sweden, Chile and the United Kingdom were second, third and fourth respectively.
