In 2021, the Czech Republic overtook Madagascar as the top exporter with exports of $6.7 million. Russia, the US and Chile ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, imports of frozen fish to Madagascar are forecast to drop from $11.2 million in 2021 to $6.5 million in 2026, a decrease of 9.1% on average year-on-year. Since 1995, imports have declined by 9.3% annually. In 2021, Finland surpassed Madagascar with $11.2 million in imports. Japan, Thailand and South Korea were the second, third and fourth biggest importers, respectively.
