In 2021, Mexico was the 26th largest exporter - Australia overtook at $21 million. Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia came in at 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Mexican shellfish imports are also set to decrease, reaching approximately $11 million by 2026 - 11.6% less than 2021. Since 2000, demand has decreased by 15.7%. Mexico was the 24th largest importer in 2021, with Chile overtaking at $23 million. Japan, South Korea and the UK followed in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place.
