Portugal's shellfish import is predicted to hit around $62 million by 2026, with an average growth of 3% year on year since 2000. In 2021, Malaysia overtook the country, coming in at number 21 with $51 million. Japan, South Korea and the UK followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Meanwhile, Portuguese shellfish exports are expected to reach $16 million by 2026, increasing by an average of 1.6% year on year since 2000. Last year, Estonia overtook Portugal, ranking at number 29 with $14.5 million. Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia followed in second, third and fourth place.
