Kenya's wax exports skyrocketed 487% in 2018, reaching 97,050 kilograms compared to just 16,530 kilograms in 2017. This marks a 29% increase from 2005. Sweden was the largest exporter of wax, while Kenya came in at number 40. Malaysia, Germany, and South Africa were ranked 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively. Kenya's wax imports also saw a slight increase in 2018, totalling 6,489,600 kilograms compared to 6,185,500 kilograms in 2017, a rise of 4.9%. Since 2005, demand has dropped 1.3%. Latvia surpassed Kenya to become the largest importer of wax in 2018, while Kenya was ranked 26th. Mexico, Germany, and Poland were ranked 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively.
