Kuwait's wax exports have seen a sharp decline over the past decade. In 2005, demand for the product was at 45,869 kilograms, but by 2018, this had fallen to just 10,610 kilograms. Bahrain overtook Kuwait to become the top exporter of wax in 2018, with Mexico, Germany and Poland ranking second, third and fourth, respectively. In 2016, Kuwait's wax exports had increased from 100 kilograms in 2015 to 170 kilograms, but this was still a far cry from the peak demand of over 45,000 kilograms in 2005.
