Egypt is set to remain a major producer of citrus by 2026. According to the latest figures, Egypt's citrus production is set to reach 5.2 million metric tons by 2026. This is an increase of 1.3% each year from 2021, when the country produced 4.8 million metric tons. Since 1966, Egypt's citrus production has grown by an average of 2.2% each year. In 2021, the country was ranked seventh in the world for citrus production, just behind the United States. Brazil, India and Mexico were ranked second, third and fourth respectively. By 2026, Egypt is expected to remain a major producer of citrus.
