Citrus production in Malawi is steadily increasing. In 2021, the country produced 257,180 metric tons, up from a 5.9% year-on-year rate since 1966. This placed Malawi 42nd in the rankings, with Nepal ahead in 41st place. Brazil, India and Mexico occupied the top three spots. Looking ahead, Malawian citrus production is set to reach around 317,000 metric tons by 2026, with a 3.5% year-on-year average rate.
