Japan's citrus production is set to drop by 4% on average every year, reaching 562,410 metric tons by 2026. This marks a decrease of 3.9% since 1966 when Japanese production was at its peak. In 2021, Japan ranked 24th in global citrus production, overtaken by Ghana at 712,920 metric tons. Brazil, India and Mexico fared better, coming in at second, third and fourth place respectively.
