Nicaraguan citrus production is on the rise. This year, the country is expected to produce 150,660 metric tons of citrus – up from 136,140 metric tons in 2021. This equates to an average annual growth rate of 1.7%. Since 1966, Nicaraguan citrus supply has grown by an average of 2.9% each year. In 2021, it was the 55th largest producer of citrus in the world, just behind Jamaica. Brazil, India and Mexico are the top three producers, respectively.
