Chile is set to become one of the most overweight countries in the world by 2026, with 67.1 percent of its adult population classified as overweight. This is an increase of 0.5 points from the 65.2 percent recorded in 2021. Since 1980, the demand for Chilean overweight prevalence has increased an average of 0.7 points per year. In 2021, the country ranked 29th in the world for overweight prevalence. Oman overtook Chile, with 65.2 percent of its adult population falling into the overweight category. The Marshall Islands, Tuvalu and Kiribati ranked second, third and fourth, respectively.
