Since 1980, the demand for obesity in India has grown at an average rate of 1.8% each year. In 2021, India ranked 181st in the world in terms of adult obesity prevalence. Bangladesh was ahead at 21.5%, with the Marshall Islands, Tuvalu, and Kiribati coming in at numbers 2, 3, and 4 respectively.
