The prevalence of overweight adults in Greece is projected to rise to 65.8% by 2026. This is an increase of 0.4 percentage points per year since 2021, when the figure stood at 64.1%. Since 1980, the prevalence has grown by 0.6 points annually. In 2021, Greece was ranked 40th in the world for overweight prevalence, with Iran overtaking the country at 64.1%. The Marshall Islands, Tuvalu and Kiribati were the second, third and fourth highest in the ranking.
