Since 2019, the country's meat demand has seen a slight annual increase of 0.1%. However, Bulgarian meat production is on a downward trend. It is forecasted to decline to approximately 186,000 metric tons by 2028 from about 203,000 metric tons in 2023, reflecting an annual decrease of 1.3%. Since 1966, the nation's meat supply has been shrinking at an average rate of 1.4% per year.
