Maize consumption in Angola is forecast to reach 1.62 million metric tons by 2026, up from 1.48 million metric tons in 2021. This marks an average annual increase of 1.5%. Since 2017, Angolan demand has grown by 0.2% year on year. At present, Venezuela is ahead of Angola in the maize consumption rankings, with 1.48 million metric tons. India, China and Indonesia occupy the second, third and fourth positions respectively. Angolan maize production is projected to hit 3.77 million metric tons by 2026, up from 3.1 million metric tons in 2021. This signals a 3.3% average year on year growth. Since 1966, Angolan supply has risen 6.7% year on year. At present, Malawi is ahead of Angola in the maize production rankings, with 3.1 million metric tons. China, Brazil and Argentina occupy the second, third and fourth positions respectively.
