Hungarian wheat consumption is set to stay unchanged in the next five years, according to statistics from 2021. In 2021, Hungary's wheat consumption was 1.06 million metric tons, making it the 54th highest in the world. Meanwhile, Turkmenistan was at the top with 1.06 million metric tons. India, the United States, and Pakistan were ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, Hungarian wheat production is expected to increase slightly by 2026. In 2021, the country produced 5.47 million metric tons of wheat, making it the 24th highest in the world. Brazil was first in the ranking at 5.47 million metric tons, while India, Russia, and the United States followed in second, third, and fourth place, respectively. Since 1966, however, Hungary's wheat production has declined by 0.5% year-on-year.
