Ugandan sorghum consumption is expected to reach around 127,000 metric tons by 2026. This represents a 1.1 percent year-on-year growth since 2017. In 2021, Uganda came in at number 19 and was overtaken by Saudi Arabia with 118,000 metric tons. India, China and Ethiopia followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Ugandan sorghum production is set to reach 406,000 metric tons by 2026, a 0.4 percent year-on-year average. Since 1966, the country's supply has grown by 1.7 percent year-on-year. In 2021, France overtook Uganda with 397,000 metric tons, placing them at number 20. Nigeria, Ethiopia and Mexico followed in second, third and fourth place respectively.
