Production of Malagasy Sorghum is also expected to rise over the next five years, increasing from 1,370 metric tons in 2021 to 1,430 metric tons in 2026, a 0.7% year-on-year growth rate. Since 1966, production has grown at a rate of 1% annually. In 2021, Malagasy production ranked 86th, behind Panama's 1,370 metric tons. Nigeria, Ethiopia and Mexico ranked second, third, and fourth respectively.
