This follows an overall 17.9% increase in production since 1966. In 2021, Malawi ranked 33rd in the world for sorghum production, just behind Uruguay at 132,630 metric tons. Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Mexico ranked 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively.
