North Koreans are set to consume 29 thousand metric tons of sorghum by 2026, the same as in 2021. That figure has remained largely unchanged since 2017. South Africa surpassed North Korea in 2021 with 29 thousand metric tons, while India, China and Ethiopia took the second, third and fourth spots respectively. North Korean production of sorghum is also expected to climb to 41,230 metric tons by 2026, up 1.3% year on year. Since 1966, North Korean output has risen 1.5% year on year. Botswana boasts the highest production at 38,280 metric tons, followed by Nigeria, Ethiopia and Mexico.
