Namibia's consumption of sorghum is expected to remain at around 3 thousand metric tons by 2026. From 2017 to 2021, demand for the grain decreased by 9.1%. In 2021, the country was ranked 47th in the world, with Madagascar taking the top spot at 3 thousand metric tons. India, China and Ethiopia respectively took positions 2, 3 and 4. Meanwhile, sorghum production in Namibia saw a sharp decline of 24.1% from 2020 to 2021, reaching 953 metric tons. Since 1966, the supply has dropped 8.8% annually. In 2021, Namibia ranked 89th in the world for production, with Madagascar taking the lead at 953 metric tons. Nigeria, Ethiopia and Mexico were ranked 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
