Mosotho's sorghum consumption is expected to reach 17,000 metric tons by 2026, growing 1.2% annually on average from 15,000 metric tons in 2021. Since 2017, demand has remained relatively stable, although the country dropped to 40th in 2021, overtaken by Guinea-Bissau with 15,000 metric tons. India, China and Ethiopia ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively. On the other hand, Mosotho's sorghum production is expected to drop 3.4% annually on average to 8,960 metric tons by 2026, from 11,200 metric tons in 2021. Since 1966, supply has risen 57.4% year on year. The country also dropped one place in the rankings to 67th in 2021, with Belize leading at 11,200 metric tons. Nigeria, Ethiopia and Mexico ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively.
